The Mangalitsa Difference

Deep red Mangalitsa pork with fine marbling and a generous fat cap

Exceptional pork starts with the breed.

Deep red meat, generous marbling, and a rich, buttery character make Mangalitsa a different kind of pork. This heritage breed brings its own flavor to the table, whether you are cooking a simple chop or spending an afternoon on a slow braise.

Marbling you can see. Flavor you can taste.

Mangalitsa is a traditional lard-type breed. Its distinctive fat is part of its culinary appeal: it lends richness to the meat and gives cooks possibilities beyond the usual cuts. Belly, shoulder, jowl, and rendered fat all have a place in a thoughtful kitchen.

Time and care on our family farm.

Our pork is born and raised on our farm. We give our animals time to develop their characteristic color and marbling, then work with artisan butchers to prepare cuts that make the most of the animal.

Choose a cut for the way you cook.

  • Chops and steaks: a flavorful centerpiece for the grill or skillet.
  • Shoulders and shanks: cuts that reward a slower approach.
  • Bacon and belly: rich flavor for breakfast, a main dish, or the finishing touch.
  • Lard and specialty cuts: explore more of what Mangalitsa offers.
